Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before placing an order with Ramble Rope Company. By purchasing from us, you agree to be bound by these terms, which do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
About us
Ramble Rope Company is a UK-based business selling handmade dog leads online. Our website is hosted on the Wix platform. References to "we", "us", and "our" throughout these terms refer to Ramble Rope Company.
To contact us, please use the details at the bottom of this page. We aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day.
Placing an order
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the product described. A contract between us is formed only when we send you an order confirmation by email.
We reserve the right to decline any order, for example if a product is out of stock, if we are unable to verify payment, or if an error has occurred in the product listing. If we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you promptly and issue a full refund where payment has been taken.
All orders are subject to availability.
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that all information provided is accurate and complete.
Pricing & payment
All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout before you confirm your order.
We take care to ensure all prices are accurate, but errors may occasionally occur. If we discover a pricing error on your order, we will contact you before proceeding. You will have the option to confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.
Payment is taken securely at the point of order via Wix Payments. We accept major debit and credit cards. We do not store your payment details.
Production & delivery
Estimated delivery times begin from the date of dispatch, not the date of order. We will send you a dispatch notification by email when your order is on its way.
We are not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services, customs processing for international orders, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. If your order is significantly delayed, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon delivery. Title in the goods passes to you upon receipt of full payment.
Custom & bespoke orders
Where you have requested a custom lead - specifying colour, length, hardware, or any other bespoke detail - production will begin once your order is confirmed. Please ensure all details are correct before completing your purchase.
Custom orders cannot be returned or refunded unless they arrive faulty or do not match the specification confirmed at the time of order. This is in addition to your statutory rights, which are not affected.
If you need to make a change to a custom order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will accommodate changes where we can, but once production has begun we may not be able to do so.
Returns & refunds
Our full returns and refunds policy is set out separately on our Returns page and forms part of these terms. In summary:
-
Standard leads may be returned within 30 days of receipt if unused and in as-new condition, at the customer's postage cost
-
Faulty or incorrect orders may be returned within 14 days at our cost
-
Custom orders are non-refundable unless faulty
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are not affected by these terms.
Product guarantee
All leads are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Our full guarantee terms are set out in our Refund Policy and form part of these terms.
The guarantee does not cover damage resulting from chewing, misuse, modification, or use for any purpose other than that for which the lead was designed. It does not affect your statutory rights.
Limitation of liability
We take the quality and safety of our products seriously. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the price paid for the product in question.
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of our products, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable UK law — for example, in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Intellectual property
All content on the Ramble Rope Company website — including text, photography, product descriptions, brand name, and design — is our property or used with permission. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of it without our prior written consent.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of this website or from a purchase will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case the courts of your home jurisdiction will apply.
We are committed to resolving any disputes fairly and promptly. If you have a complaint, please contact us in the first instance and we will do our best to resolve it directly.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with the date of last update shown at the top. Continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Orders placed before any change are governed by the terms in force at the time of purchase.
Questions about these terms? We're a small maker and we'd always rather have the conversation. Get in touch at info@starshop.online and we'll come back to you within one working day.
